Coronary Artery Disease is also referred to as “hardening of the arteries” which is a build up of plaque. A build up of plaque over time can restrict the arteries so severely that the blood flow to the heart is inadequate and an individual will have Angina symptoms. If the condition is left untreated, a clot can occur resulting in a heart attack, or stroke.
