Many with Hypertension often have no symptoms, but it’s still doing damage to the body. Left untreated or uncontrolled, it can damage blood vessels and cause a Stroke or Heart Attack.

Additionally, what many do not realize is that poor vascular (blood vessel) health in middle-age is a risk factor for dementia later in life. This is because it lessens the amount of oxygen that flows to the brain due to damaged heart valves.

Though approved blood pressure medications exist, many struggle to take their daily meds, so it may not work well. Still others need more than one medication—or remain untreated. For these reasons, volunteers are needed for research studies assessing investigational medications for Hypertension—some of which may require very infrequent dosing.
